INTRODUCTION
EU-EAGA BizTech Match-Making Event (18-19 November 2009)
EU-EAGA BizTech Match-Making event will be held for two days to facilitate direct business and technology partnership such as collaboration in public procurement, venture capital investment, R&D, management contract, technical assistance, technology licensing, trading of traditional and non-traditional products (such as carbon trading), manufacturing investment and contract manufacturing in the priority areas of the project.

Those interested in participating will register and provide their organisation and collaboration profile on the project’s website (www.eu-eaga.org). Participating companies can then search for potential partners via the website either by name of the company, people, country or any specific industries; they can view all the participating companies’ profile to evaluate prospects and request meetings with the companies during the Business Match-Making event day. Once the company has registered for the Business Match-Making event and provided their organisation and collaboration profile, the secretariat will publish it into a catalogue. 15,000 copies of catalogues will be printed and circulated to targeted groups in Europe and EAGA/Asia. E-Catalogues will also be circulated within the databases of all the participating partners. Registered company’s profile will be uploaded to the project website as well.

1/2 day Business Culture Training, 16 Nov 2009 (Monday)
The Business Culture Training is a training session to familiarise the participating companies with EU culture and coach them to have better preparation in terms of presentation and negotiation with EU companies during business match-making meeting.

International Conference (17 November 2009)
1 day International Conference serves as a consultative platform for visiting participants to exchange ideas and provide inputs to the local and regional institutional bodies within the EAGA in relation to trade, investment and technology policies and measures. Additionally, it serves as an intellectual platform whereby the participants from public/ private sectors and renowned Industry’s players from EU and EAGA region will share their experience and ideas on the subject matter.

The themes of discussion include :-

(A)   EAGA Policy and Regulatory Framework
(B)  Partnership between the EU and BIMP-EAGA: Prospects, Challenges &
      Opportunities
(C) Case Studies on Doing Business in the EU/ EAGA.

Capacity Building Programme (17 November 2009)
½ day Capacity Building Programme comprises of a series of sessions under the theme of each priority areas i.e. Environment & Energy, Natural Resources (Forestry), Agriculture and Aquaculture and Ecotourism (run in parallel) that focuses on issues and challenges faced by local SMEs in expanding the reach of their products to the global market; specifically the EU market as well as the latest technological developments in EU that can be harnessed by local sectoral players. The areas of focus shall include EU regulation and legislation towards products from sustainable sources, eco-labeling, intellectual property rights, biodiversity preservation, market trends and market access requirements (safety, packaging, information and labeling standards), renewable energy technologies, the EU carbon market as well as management and practices in ecotourism. These sessions shall highlight on the general and specific approaches of EU towards the widely accepted concepts and principles sustainability with the aim of encouraging the move towards voluntary self-regulation by local industry players.

Business Partnering Seminar (18 November 2009)
1 day Business Partnering Seminar addresses economic co-operation between the EU and EAGA/ Asia in the 4 key priority sectors of the project. This session serves as an information sharing and collaborative platform for all the delegates. We are inviting interested European/ EAGA/ Asian organisations to present their profile of collaboration to the participants.
